Digital menus and online ordering for restaurants in Syria
For a restaurant, cafe or home kitchen in Damascus, Aleppo or anywhere else in Syria. Your menu lives at ala.menu/yourname, the QR goes on the tables, and orders arrive on your own page or on WhatsApp. Payment is cash or a bank transfer the customer sends you. There is no card gateway wired for Syria, and we would rather say so here than let you find out at checkout. The menu is free forever and there is no commission on any order.
What works in Syria, and what does not
0% commission, every order
Nothing is taken off any order on any plan. That is not a launch offer.
Cash and transfer, said plainly
Cash on delivery and manual transfer with the bank and other presets: the customer sends, you confirm, and the order is only marked paid when you say it is.
No card gateway here, and we will not pretend
None of the gateways in this product covers Syria. Whish Pay is USD and LBP only, and no Syrian acquirer exists in the code. Everything else works.
Price in dollars, show lira
Keep the catalogue in USD and show diners SYP at your own rate and rounding step, or price in SYP directly. Your dashboard stays in your base currency either way.
Arabic, properly
Full native right-to-left rendering with a real Arabic webfont, not a mirrored English layout. Publishing the menu in Arabic is free.
One QR that survives everything
The printed code points at ala.menu/q/yourcode, allocated once and never reissued. Change the name, change every price. Do not reprint.

A PDF, a photo of the printed menu, or a description. The AI builder types it up, on the free plan, with no quota.
2. Turn on cash and transfer
Add the account details the customer should send to. They send, you confirm, and the order moves.
3. Share the link and the QR
On the tables, in your bio, in your status. Orders come to your page or into WhatsApp.
Syria, spelled out
- Delivery platforms
- No international aggregator operates in Syria. The platforms are local: BeeOrder, Damascus-based since 2016 and the largest; Movo, the first to carry Visa and Apple Pay; and Sarie, which started in Aleppo.
- What they charge
- No credible public commission figure exists for any Syrian platform. Not a low one, not a high one. None of them publishes a merchant rate, and no report we can stand behind quotes one. So this page does not quote one either. If someone shows you a percentage for BeeOrder or Movo, ask where it came from.
- Our commission
- 0% per order, on Free, Plus and Pro alike.
- Payment rails you can switch on
- Cash on delivery, and manual transfer with the bank and other presets, where the customer sends and you confirm. No online card gateway: Whish Pay covers USD and LBP only, and there is no Syrian acquirer in this product. This is the honest state of it, not a roadmap.
- Currency
- Syrian pound, two decimals. Or keep the catalogue in USD and show SYP at a rate and a rounding step you set. With no card gateway here, the setting costs you nothing, since it only ever pauses online card payment.
- Languages
- Arabic with full native RTL, and English. Publishing the menu in Arabic is free; offering diners a language switcher, with AI translation across 21 languages, is Plus.
A delivery app keeps your customer. Here the customer is yours.
On an aggregator the guest belongs to the app. The number, the name and the order history sit in their account, and reaching that same guest again means paying for them again. On a menu you own, all of it stays with you.
Customers
Every order writes a customer row: name, phone, how many orders, what they spent, when they last ordered. Open one and the full order history is there, with a phone number you can actually call. On Plus.
CSV export
Export the whole list, or only the customers who agreed to hear from you, with orders, spend, and first and last order dates. It is your list, in a file, whenever you want it. On Pro.
Promo codes
Bring a guest back with a code you set yourself: a percentage, a fixed amount, or free delivery. It can apply on its own, be limited to a first order, or be usable once per phone number. On Plus.
Reviews
The rating and the written feedback come to you. You choose the mode: collect privately, send diners to your Google listing, or do both. On Plus.
Loyalty
A punch card that rewards every few orders, or a reward at a spend milestone, with the card saved in Apple and Google Wallet. Website orders stamp themselves; walk-ins and WhatsApp orders you stamp. On Pro.
Analytics
Menu views, unique visitors, the most tapped item, orders, the view-to-order rate, and the funnel from a view to a placed order. On Plus.

Syria, answered
How much do BeeOrder, Movo or Sarie take per order?
Nobody can tell you honestly. None of them publishes a merchant rate card, and there is no report credible enough to quote. That blank is worth knowing: it means the only rate you can actually verify is your own contract. An order through your own menu costs 0%, and that one you can check.
Can I take card payments in Syria?
Not through us. None of the online gateways in this product covers Syria. Whish Pay is USD and LBP only, and no Syrian acquirer is wired in. What works is cash on delivery and a manual bank transfer the customer sends, which you confirm before the order moves.
Can I price in dollars and show Syrian pounds?
Yes. Set a rate and a rounding step, and every amount a customer sees converts while your dashboard and reports stay in your base currency. The one side effect of that setting is that it pauses online card payment, which in Syria changes nothing, because there is no card gateway to pause.
Is the Arabic real Arabic?
Yes. The menu renders right to left natively with a loaded Arabic webfont, not a flipped English layout. You can publish in Arabic on the free plan. A switcher between languages, with AI translation into 21 languages, is on Plus.
Do you have restaurants live in Syria?
No. We have built a demo menu for a Damascus home bakery from their own material, and a demo is not a live client. We would rather say that than dress a demo up as a customer. The product itself works here today on cash and transfer.
What does it cost?
The menu, the templates, your Page and WhatsApp ordering are free, with no card and no trial period. Website ordering with an order dashboard is Plus; a custom domain, branches and loyalty are Pro. Paid plans are priced by region, so the figure for you is on the pricing page.
