doXmenu alternative for restaurants: a QR menu with your own ordering

ala.menu gives your restaurant its own ordering on a QR menu: the table orders and calls the waiter, delivery is priced by area, and diners pay by card, transfer or cash, at 0% commission. Every table orders from its own QR code, as at The Protein Bar’s two branches, and diners can ask the AI waiter about any dish; each of them lands in your customer list with a loyalty card in their wallet.

For a restaurant that wants table ordering, delivery by area and cards through its own bank on one QR menu, ala.menu is the stronger choice.

Why ala.menu, for your QR menu

At the table and at the door

  • Table ordering. Each table gets its own QR tent, up to 500 tables. Guests scan it and order, and they can call the waiter or ask for the bill from the same page. On Plus.
  • Cards through your bank. The diner pays on your menu: cash, Whish Pay, a Whish, OMT or bank transfer you confirm, or a card through your own gateway (CyberSource with NetCommerce or another bank, Areeba MPGS, Stripe or PayPal). The money settles between you and your gateway, never through us. On Plus.
  • Delivery priced by area. Price delivery by named area, distance ring, a shape drawn on the map or postal code, each zone with its own fee and minimum order. An address outside every zone is refused by default, or accepted with the fee confirmed by the shop if you choose. On Plus.

AI that acts

  • The waiter fills the cart. The AI waiter recommends up to 8 dishes at a time and up to 3 that go with them, adds dishes to the cart with size, add-ons and a kitchen note, up to 10 in one reply, swaps or removes a line, fills in the diner’s name and phone, and opens the checkout. On Plus.
  • No allergy promises. The AI waiter never tells a diner that a dish is safe for an allergy. It quotes the dish’s allergen tags and offers the restaurant’s WhatsApp. On Plus.
  • AI tag suggestions. The AI suggests allergen and diet tags for a dish, picked from the 16 dietary tags and 9 allergens diners filter by. On Plus.
  • Import, then tick. In the AI editor, attach a PDF or a photo, or paste a link, and the new dishes and price changes come back as a list you tick before anything is applied. Saving needs Plus.

After the order

  • Nobody misses an order. An order nobody has accepted keeps the order board chiming every 15 seconds and can re-alert the team’s phones every 20 seconds for 5, 10 or 15 minutes. On Plus.
  • Kitchen ticket on Telegram. The kitchen ticket can go to up to 10 Telegram chats, staff groups included. It lists items with options, the address, totals and payment method, in English or Arabic. On Plus.
  • Reject with a reason. A pending order can be rejected with one of five reasons, and a live order, items and delivery fee included, can be edited until it is completed. On Plus.
  • Refunds on cancel. Rejecting or cancelling a paid order refunds it through Stripe, MPGS, PayPal or CyberSource; a Whish refund you send yourself, wallet to wallet, and it is tracked as due or sent. On Plus.

Menu depth

  • Numbered table tents. Numbered table tents print for tables 1 to 10 by default, up to 50 in one download, or follow your table-service count. On Plus.
  • A name for the kitchen. An add-on can carry a kitchen name, such as “NO PICKLE” for “Hold the pickles”, printed on the kitchen ticket and the order board and never shown to the diner. On Plus.
  • Live macros. On a build-your-own dish, the calorie and macro totals update as the diner changes the ingredients. On Pro.
  • Bundles in steps. A bundle is a set of steps, such as “Choose a drink”, each drawing from dishes, a category or an add-on group, required or optional, with 1 to 5 picks per step, each included in the price or charged. On Pro.

What you are told

  • New, returning, lapsed. The customer list sorts every diner into New (one order), Returning (two or more) and Lapsed (no order in 30 days), with one record per phone number however the number was typed. On Plus.
  • Searches that found nothing. Analytics shows what diners searched for on the menu, including the searches that found nothing. On Plus.
  • A Monday morning email. Every Monday at 09:00, Beirut time, you get an email with the week’s views, visitors, orders, revenue, top items, the peak time and the questions the AI waiter could not answer. On Pro.
  • The regular who stopped. The customer list filters to anyone with no order in 30 days. Open the row, tap WhatsApp, and on Pro attach a coupon locked to that person. On Plus.

ala.menu, answered

How hard is it to switch?

Send the menu you have as a PDF, photos or text, and the AI builder builds it in minutes. Print the new QR, one code for the menu or one tent per table, and it keeps opening your menu whatever you change later: prices, dishes, photos or design.

Can people order from the table?

Yes, on Plus. Each table gets its own QR tent, up to 500 tables. Guests scan it and order, and they can call the waiter or ask for the bill from the same page; the order lands on your order board.

What happens when I rearrange tables?

Each table has its own QR tent, up to 500 tables. The table number is a field in your dashboard, and the tent stays where it is. Numbered table tents print for tables 1 to 10 by default, up to 50 in one download, or follow your table-service count. On Plus.

Can diners pay by card through my bank?

Yes, on Plus. Cash, Whish Pay, or a Whish, OMT or bank transfer the diner sends and you confirm, and cards through your own gateway: CyberSource with NetCommerce or another bank, Areeba MPGS, Stripe or PayPal. The money never passes through ala.menu. Rejecting or cancelling a paid order refunds it through Stripe, MPGS, PayPal or CyberSource; a Whish refund you send yourself, wallet to wallet, and it is tracked as due or sent. On Plus.

Can one code serve several branches?

Each branch is its own menu with its own code, so the table tent in one branch opens that branch’s menu and hours. They all sit under one brand in one dashboard.

What does it cost?

The menu, your Page, the QR and WhatsApp ordering are free, with no card and no trial period. Website ordering with delivery zones, table ordering, Whish Pay and cards, the customer list and promo codes are Plus; a custom domain and the loyalty card are Pro. Plus is $49 a location a month and Pro $99. 0% commission on every plan.
