Digital menu with POS integration: prices and stock synced by API
On Business, the ala.menu POS Catalog Sync API keeps your digital menu in sync with your POS: prices, stock, new items and photos follow the till as they change.
Pegasus Pet Center, a client with shops in Beirut and Accra, syncs through a connector we wrote for them.
Business is $199 a month for the first location, 0% commission on every order.

What the POS sync does
One endpoint
A key per menu and one call to push what changed: a price, a stock count, a new item. Fields you leave out stay as they are.
Stock that sells out
A quantity of zero shows the item as sold out and blocks it at checkout; anything above zero brings it back.
The full catalogue, on your schedule
Send everything once a day, or as often as you like. Anything a change missed corrects itself at the next full sync.
Your edits stay yours
The POS owns prices and stock. Layout, descriptions and design stay on the menu side: the sync adds a section when the POS sends a new one and moves an item it is told to move, but never reorders, renames or removes your sections. A field you edit by hand stays pinned.
Safe by design
Nothing is ever deleted: an item you stop sending is hidden. A full sync missing a large share of the catalogue is refused and changes nothing.
New items wait for you
New items can be held until you approve them, and every sync is logged in the dashboard.
Connected in three steps
1. Get a key
From the POS Sync section of your dashboard, on Business.
2. Connect the till
Your POS or your developer calls the API, documented with an OpenAPI file at ala.menu/developers/pos.
3. Let it run
Changes go out as they happen, and a full sync on your schedule keeps the menu true.

POS integration, answered
Does ala.menu integrate with my POS?
Through an API, on Business. Your POS, or a developer working for you, sends prices, stock and new items to one endpoint, and the menu follows. There is no ready-made connector for a named POS brand.
Is there a Foodics integration?
No. There is no Foodics connector. A system that can call an HTTPS API can keep the menu in sync through the POS Catalog Sync API.
My POS has no developer. What then?
Talk to us. For Pegasus Pet Center we wrote the connector that reads their in-store till and calls the API, for their shops in Beirut and Accra.
What does the sync change on my menu?
Prices, stock, item names, new items and photos. It never reorders, renames or removes anything it was not sent, and a field you edit by hand in the dashboard stays the way you set it.
Can a broken export empty my menu?
No. Nothing is ever deleted through the API: an item you stop sending is hidden. A full sync that is missing a large share of the catalogue is refused and changes nothing.
Do orders go back into the POS?
No. The API carries the catalogue from the POS to the menu. Orders arrive on the ala.menu order board, by email and push notification, and on Business in your WhatsApp.
What does it cost?
POS sync and the API are on Business: $199 a month for the first location and $99 for each one after. There is no commission on any order on any plan.
